Hut Bay, Oct 28: A teacher posted at Hut Bay has alleged that she has been continuously harassed by the Electricity JE Office staffs as three times in recent past, people from Electricity JE Office reached to her dilapidated quarter to remove fuse from fuse-box. The teacher reportedly moved to the dilapidated quarter recently.
Surprisingly, third time when a staff of Electricity JE Office came to remove the fuse the said lady teacher had already filled and submitted necessary form/application for electric connection and completed all bank formalities. However, when contacted the JE reportedly gave excuse of not noticing any form /application.
However, for another government quarter electric bills were issued in the name of a government servant for nearly three months, despite of the fact that the government staff shifted to private room long back and someone else stayed in that quarter without paying a single penny for electricity charges,for nearly two months.Sadly in that case the fuse was not removed by the staffs of JE Electricity Office from the fuse box of that quarter.
“If I have filled the form and submitted it, the office staffs must act on the application. Why I was asked to come and meet the JE and call him? Why should someone be asked to meet and call particular government officer again and again?” questioned the lady teacher.
It is known to everyone that Hut Bay area was declared as containment zone for several weeks and there were problems in movement of people and under such circumstances removing fuse from selected government quarters just because there is a delay in filling forms, is unethical.
The family members of the lady staffs are now planning to take up this matter with SE, Electricity and also other senior officers for justice.
