Draft Electoral Rolls published

Port Blair, Oct 01: It is brought to the notice of the general public that as a part of Summary Revision-2013, with 01-01-2013 as qualifying date, the Draft Electoral Rolls of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency has been published on 01-10-2012 and available at the Designated Locations and offices for inspection. The draft rolls have also been uploaded onto the official website http://as1.and.nic.in(or) http:// ceoan.and.nic.in.

Interested persons can file claims and objections with the Designated Officers appointed for the purpose, Polling-station-wise during the normal working hours. The date and time of disposal of such claims/objections shall be published in due course.

With a view to achieve cent-percent coverage of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC), an intensive drive is also being planned simultaneously in Port Blair Tehsil area. The respective Booth Level Officers and revenue officials shall be visiting the households to verify the electoral particulars and also to collect photographs of the electors whose photographs are not reflected on the rolls. The names of the electors appearing on the rolls but physically not present at the given address owing to death, shifting/migration etc., shall be struck off by due process. The electors are appealed to take advantage of this arrangement and to submit passport size photographs without fail.

The active cooperation of general public and all political parties, through their Booth Level Agents are solicited for making this campaign a success.
