Port Blair, Oct 04: On 2nd October 2020 acting on a tip off the team of forest mobile squad consisting of Mr. S.P. Roy Deputy Ranger, Mr. Baiju M. Nair Forester, Mr. Basant Lall, Forest Guard, Mr. M.Shabbir, Forest Guard, Mr. M Panchavarnam, Mr. Anup Mistry, Mr. Ranjan Halder, and Mr. Ashrafuddin, Mr. Sanjay Mondal & Mr. Kaushik Vaishnab Mazdoors conducted a massive search operation within the premises of Mr. Bachu Biswas R/o Duke Nagar under Gram Panchayat Swadeshnagar recovered illegal hand sawn teak timber (category 1) measuring about 0.290 Cbm.
The forest officials asked him to produce valid documents for possession of the same but the accused failed to produce any documents and as such the accused was arrested and the timber were seized under relevant sections of Indian Forest Act 1927.
Further the accused was handed over to the Range Officer Betapur along with seized materials & case related documents for further proceedings of the case.
The entire operation took place under the guidance of Mr. Vijay Kishen Forest Ranger and under overall direction & Supervision of Mr. Satya Prakash Singh, IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Forest Division.
