Port Blair, August 12: Port Blair Municipal Council’s Ward Councilor, Mr. Sanjay Meshack yesterday posted a comment in the ‘PBMC Connect’ Group of WhatsApp highlighting about a sorry state that no assistance of Mortuary Van was provided by the PBMC to PBMC staff, who died yesterday. Reacting to such post, Mr. Meshak was threatened with dire consequences by a senior employee of the PBMC.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, Andaman, and the Nicobar Islands, Mr. Meshack stated that yesterday morning he received a call from the neighbor about death of, a Junior Engineer of PBMC residing under his jurisdiction following which he rushed to the spot.
Mr. Meshack mentioned that after waiting for more than 04 hours he didn’t receive the assistance of Mortuary Van from the PBMC for which he tried in 232431, 102, 1070 numbers as a result of which he with the help of other villagers shifted the body later in a Police Van.
Giving more details about the ordeal he and the villagers of Mahavir Nagar gone through, he posted a message in the WhatsApp group stating that even being a councilor and the deceased being an employee of PBMC, they failed to receive support from PBMC. After reading the post the senior PBMC employee, Executive Engineer, E & M , PBMC allegedly called him over the phone and used abusive words against him. The senior staff even threatened to kill him, Mr. Meshak alldged.
In his letter he requested the LG to accept his complaint and take action against the senior PBMC employee as per the law.
Mr. Sanjay Meshak claims that he has call recording of the telephonic conversation to prove his point.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sanjay Meshak has also sent formal Complaint letters to SHO, PS Pahargaon and the Secretary, PBMC for necessary action and a copy all letters were shared to Andaman Sheekha.
