Port Blair, August 10: After a long wait, the high speed internet through CANI-SMC was launched today but the speed in the mobile data remains the same in most of the areas, alleged mobile users across South Andaman, Swaraj Dweep and Little Andaman.
To check the impact of the CANI-SMC project Andaman Sheekha asked questioned Islanders regarding their experience about fast internet in social media and the answers posted were disheartening.
Many replied that the speed in their mobile data has decreased since morning rather than increasing. “Where is the fast internet?” questioned a mobile data user.
In New Pahargaon neither BSNL nor the ultra fast 4G of Airtel is working.
Sadly even FTTH users are also complaining about reduced speed. “According to my FTTH Plan, my speed must be 80 Mbps, the plan is changed but speed is 40 Mbps,” Mr. Shakir commented.
Dozens and Dozens of people complained about the same in social media as well as by calling Andaman Sheekha desk personally.
Hope the authorities in BSNL will clarify their stand as to why the speed remains the same even after the launch of high speed internet through CANI-SMC project.
