Port Blair, July 19: Delay in transfer of some lower-ranked police personnel from Nicobar District has left many upset. Till now Andaman and Nicobar Police has strictly adhered to their own form of transfer policy for the last many years as a result of which none got the chance to point a finger on the ANP in connection delay in transfer, till date. Infact the model followed by Police Department of one year transfer for Nicobar District is widely praised and lauded by media and public.
It has been reported that several Head Constables and Constables currently posted in the Nicobar group of Islands, despite completing their tenure, have been waiting for their transfer since nearly four months.
Andaman Sheekha tried to reach the Director General of Police, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today, to know the reason behind the issue, but he was unavailable for a comment.
