Port Blair, July 15: On 14/07/2020 at about 1205 hrs on receipt of information from reliable sources regarding transportation of illegal liquor/IMFL, a team of PS Baratang was constituted by the undersigned comprising SI M Yusuf, HC/1451 S. Jiju, PC/1172 Puran Uraon, HG/261 Anand Prakash Kiro, HG/31 Darmender Tirkey, HG/69 Jospesh Xess and HC(D)/2552 Tanga Durai of PS Baratang, who conducted a raid near ATR Road at Bolcha village, Baratang and recovered 205 bottles of IMFL {(1)160 NOS. 180ML IMFL bottles officer’s choice whiskey company sealed (2) 30 NOS. 375ML IMFL bottles officer’s choice whisky company sealed (3) 15 NOS. 180ML IMFL bottles prestige malt whisky company sealed} and after observing all codal formalities arrested two persons namely Shri. R Kathiravan S/o Late K Ramanadhan (30) yrs private bus driver R/o Bimblitan, Port Blair, South Andaman and Shri. Sandeep kujur S/o Shri. Walter Kujur (20) yrs R/o Bamboo Nallah, Baratang and an excise case was registered against them at PS Baratang. the vehicle used for commission of line was also seized.
The entire raid was conducted under the supervision of S.I A. Anbeshwaran, I/C PS Baratang and overall supervision of Shri. R. K. Sharma SDPO/Rangat, and overall direction of Shri. Anant Mittal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
