Port Blair, July 06: In the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 16 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today. Meanwhile, eight patients recovered as well. Now, the total number of active cases has reached 67. It includes eight travellers and eight contacts of earlier positives. All the 16 persons found positive have been admitted to hospitals for treatment.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the islands has reached 141 out of which 74 patients have recovered. Five areas in Port Blair have been categorized as clusters for containment of the virus. People are advised to take precautions and stick to the guidelines. Screening and sample testing are being carried on.
