Port Blair, June 28: Today seven new cases of COVID19 was reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As per reports all cases are directly or indirectly related to defence personnel. But one youth, who is related to defence person but not a dependent family member, has been admitted in G B Pant Hospital, while six others have been admitted in INHS Dhanvantri.
Sources said that most of the cases related to defence personnel and their relatives are connected to the Chartered Flight of Defence that reached Andaman recently.
With the total number of cases in Andaman till today has reached to 83, among which 38 are active cases while, 45 people have recovered so far.
Health Department sources today said that no one among the 38 Active cases is serious although one girl COVID19 patient is already suffering from Meningeal tuberculosis.
As per detailed reports available with Andaman Sheekha 18 cases out of these 38 active cases are admitted in INHS Dhavantri, One in Mayabunder Hospital, 2 are in Home isolation and 17 are admitted in G B Pant Hospital. A daughter of a Doctor in ANIIMS and a wife of a Senior Police Officer are in Home isolation.
