Port Blair, June 15: Today, at about 11: 20 AM, around 25 residents of Car Nicobar gathered at parking place of Raj Niwas and expressed their resentment over not getting of ship tickets for travelling from Port Blair to Car Nicobar. They demanded to provide ship tickets for voyage of Car Nicobar scheduled on 18/06/2020. Meanwhile, local police intervened and asked them, to approach Director of Shipping Service for redressal of their problems.
Meanwhile, on information, the President, Nicobar Youth Association, Mr. Rayhaan Pasha immediately rushed to the spot and convinced them to end the protest. He assured them to speak to the higher authorities to give them priority tickets in next sailing. After meeting them, Rayhaan met Deputy Director Shipping and also spoke to Director Tribal Welfare. The residents of Car Nicobar have been reportedly assured to issue ship tickets soon.
