Port Blair, June 15: The terror of the domestic Pigs continues in the Prem Nagar area of the South Andaman region. This time the complaint is not for the movement of Pig in the area but the Pigs entering houses and damaging things.
As per reports, a resident of ward number 07, Prem Nagar Basti, and also a Daily Rated Mazdoor of the Port Blair Municipal Council has registered a complaint against her neighbours after their pigs entered her house and damaged things kept inside the house.
The complainant lady alleged that the Pigs of Mrs. Bala Devi her neighbor are entering her house continuously for the last three days and when she highlighted the matter to her neighbour, instead of controlling her Pigs, she uses filthy language against her.
“I leave for the office early morning daily leaving behind my two kids and several people rearing Pigs in the neighbourhood are creating havoc like situation in the area, I urge legal action against the neighbour with the aim that no such problems are repeated in the future,” the complainant added.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Chairman, Port Blair Municipal Council, Mr. Udhaya Kumar, and questioned him regarding the menace of domestic pigs in the area, this time again he maintained that the PBMC is taking all necessary steps to control the movement of the Pigs.
“We are penalizing the Pig rearers whose Pigs are found moving in the open,” Mr. Udhaya Kumar added.
However, he said that looking at the increasing menace of the domestic Pigs in the residential areas it is necessary that some stringent rules are made and assured of taking this matter up in the next PBMC meeting.
