Port Blair, May 11: Mr. M Vinod, State Vice President-BJP, A & N Islands in a written communication addressed to Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel-Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Art & Culture, Mr. B L Santhosh – BJP National General Secretary (org) & Prabhari – A & N Islands, Mr. Tarun Chugh – National Secretary – BJP & Prabhari-A & N Islands, with a copy to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Port Blair, the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, A & N Islands; requested to provide appropriate relief for the Tourism Industry of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
He stated that Tourism Industry is the single largest employer of these Islands with almost 80% population directly or indirectly depending on it for their livelihood, which has been facing crunch due lockdown.
He further suggested several relief and revival measures that should be taken to support Tourism Industry and to create favorable travelling atmosphere.
