Port Blair, May 10: Mrs. Sampa Banerjee, Member-UTCPCR, A & N Islands in a written communication has requested the Chief General Manager, BSNL, A & N Islands to restore recently disconnected internet connection of subscribers due to non-payment of bills.
She stated that due to lockdown, the only option left with students is to continue their studies through internet and also received some reports that, due to non payment of bills, internet connections of many subscribers were disconnected.
She further stressed that, many students of 10 & 12 standard, who are required to study for their upcoming exams are facing serious problems due to this. Colleges have started, online classes and students from our islands are deprived of that advantage due to unavailability of internet.
She requested CGM, to revisit his decision and restore all recently disconnected internet connection due to nonpayment of their bills.
