Port Blair, May 4: The President, Andaman Nicobar Media Federation, K Ganeshan in a letter to the Secretary, IP has urged him to release government advertisement to the private newspapers in the islands. He drew the attention of the Secretary, IP to the official mouthpiece, Daily Telegrams in which government advertisements are being issued by various departments of the UT administration on a daily basis. He reminded the Secretary, IP on the conversation the media team had with him recently wherein the Secretary, IP assured the media team that as and when government advertisements is being released to the Daily Telegrams, the same will also be released to the private regional newspapers. However, since last many days, government advertisements in the form of tenders are being published in the government newspapers. However, no advertisements have been released to the regional newspapers in the islands. The advertisements can be released to private media as per the laid down rules.
