Mayabunder, April 12: Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Adhyaksh, North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad has requested the Administration to identify and provide financial assistance to people from several weaker section of local society if the
lockdown extends beyond 14, April 2020. He said that the daily wage workers like fishermen, Auto Rickshaw Drivers and farmers are worst hit because of the pandemic.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Dipankar Mistry said that without doubt, the efforts taken by the District Administration during this lockdown are praiseworthy but yet certain people who run their livelihood with their daily income are struggling as they haven’t received any assistance from the administration yet.
“If at all the lockdown in the country extends, the first step of the administration must be to come for the rescue of these people,” urged Mr. Mistry.
