Port Blair, Mar 20: In the context of the orders issued by the various Districts, the ANIIDCO authorities (for South Andaman and the North & Middle Districts) and the EHL for the Nicobar District, are required to issue POL (MS /HSD) to the following:
1) Government vehicles (UT / Central/ PSU) engaged in providing essential service which shall be certified by the Secretary (GA) for UT Administration. For Central Govt. departments permit will be issued for one vehicle per department.
2) Private vehicles engaged in Govt. duty and discharging essential service. The Concerned Secretary / Head of Department shall certify that the vehicle has been engaged for official use for discharging essential service. On production of the certificate, a special permit will be issued by the office of the concerned Deputy Commissioner, which will be shown to the ANIIDCO outlet.
3) For private vehicles engaged in essential services i.e. for transporting medicine / vegetables/ fruits/ meat products, cash delivery vans of banks, a special permit shall be issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioner, on application by the owner of the establishment. Only one permit will be issued per establishment.
4) One permit for POL shall be issued by the Director (Transport) for media persons (Up to a maximum of 10) on the recommendation by the IP&T Department.
5) Ambulances, hearse vehicles, conservancy vehicles, vehicles of doctors on duty. They shall apply for the special permit to the concerned Deputy Commissioner.
6) Vehicles engaged in transporting cargo pertaining to food items/ milk/ grocery / kirana items related to discharge of essential services from the harbor/ jetty to the respective godown/ store. The concerned persons engaged in this activity are to apply for a permit to the concerned Deputy Commissioner, who shall assess the overall requirement for the said applicant and issue permit to the barest minimum required. Each permit shall entitle issuance of 15 litres of fuel per permit except for category No. 06 which shall be 25 litres for local use and full tank for transporting to N & M Andaman District or return.
