Port Blair, March 16: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, the State President- BJP A & N Islands, Mr. Vishal Jolly, former State President & Core Committee member-BJP, A & N Islands, Mr. D.C. Arunagiri, State Vice-President, BJP, A & N Islands & Mr. N.K. Udaya Kumar, State President, Yuva Morcha, BJP, A & N Islands & Chairperson, PBMC, met the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi on 16th March, 2020 at New Delhi, and vehemently raised several vital issues concerning the welfare of the general public of these Islands, such as:-
- Constitution of Assembly OR Reinstatement of Pradesh Council for A & N Islands.
- Slashing of Stamp Duty charges & Circle rates.
- Report of Vivek Rae Committee on Regularization of Land matters.
- Protection of Old Encroachments.
- Construction of Bridge between Chatham to Bambooflat.
- Releasing of Central Road Fund.
- Harassment of old encroachers by the officers of A & N Administration.
- One time relaxation for the constructed buildings in violation of building Bye-Laws.
- Protecting the interest of Daily Rated Mazdoors and Regularization of Casual Mazdoors.
- Setting up of Women’s Rights Commission.
Immediately after the meeting, directions were issued to the concerned officials for taking urgent necessary steps in this regard, positively. The meeting was quite fruitful and the Prime Minister has assured that all the issues would be given utmost priority.
