Port Blair, Feb 25: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament had organised a health checkup camp on 23.02.2020 at Shoal Bay in the Community Hall of the Shoal Bay Panchayat. The health check-ups were conducted by the team of doctors and paramedical staffs of Pillar Hospital and Agrawal’s Eye Hospital.
Mr. Sharma while interacting with the villagers who were attending the health checkup camp said that the basic objective of organising such camps within the confinement of remote villages like Shoal Bay, is to encourage and make aware the need of routine health checkups to the rural folk, as a small health problem can turn serious if not detected and taken care timely at initial stage. He requested the villagers attending the camp to campaign and explain the benefits derived by attending the health camp to other villagers living in their neighborhood, so that more and more people become health conscious and take benefits of these kind of health initiatives. He also advised the villagers to visit regularly the nearby Primary Health Sub Centre, PHCs, Health and Wellness Centre etc. for routine health check-ups.
