Port Blair, Feb 25: The team of police station Bambooflat has busted gambling den in the jurisdiction and a total of 06 persons have been arrested with recovery of more than 30 thousand rupees.
On 21/02/2020, on receipt of credible information regarding playing cards on betting behind the back side jungle of V.K.V School , Andha Beda, Bambooflat. Immediately, the police team led by SI K. Illangovan, SHO Bambooflat comprising PSI M.J. Inderjit, PCs Ashok Roy, Debasish Roy & Suresh Kumar raided at the spot and arrested 06 persons involved in gambling. An amount of Rs 30800/- cash and deck of playing cards were recovered from the possession of accused persons namely 1) K. Yousuf, S/o Late K. Mohammed (50) Yrs, R/o Tapu Basthi, 2) K. Ganapathy, S/o Mr k. kammaiah, (40) Yrs R/o Panighat, 3) B. Ramesh, S/o Late Velaydhan, (44) Yrs, R/o Panighat, 4) K. Srinivashlu, S/o Mr. K Appa Rao (42) Yrs, R/o Bambooflat, 5) Youfus Ali, S/o Mr. Imtiaz Ali, (28) Yrs, R/o Hope Town and 6) Simachalam, S/o Shri K. Rama Rao, (28) Yrs, R/o Panighat.
The entire operation took place under SDPO Bambooflat, Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS and under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public s requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
