Port Blair, Feb 20: All petrol bunks in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been ordered by the Directorate of Consumer Supplies and Consumer Affairs for not providing petrol to the two-wheelers, whose riders are without a helmet.
The Director Consumer Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Dr. Navlendra Kumar has directed all the petrol pumps in the Islands to implement the same following the discussions happened in the 4th States Road Safety Council on dated 16/12/2019 under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar administration, where the aforesaid decision of no helmet no petrol was finalized to be implemented.
“Enforcement will be conducted by the department of CA and CS if any violations are found and strict action as deemed fit will be initiated against the petrol pump owners/ proprietor,” Dr Navlendra Singh has mentioned in his letter addressing all the petrol pumps in these Islands.
