Mayabunder, Jan 17: Water scarcity, power outage, instant stoppage of chemical fertilizer, non- issuance of NOC from departments for development projects and various other conundrums of the Pahelgaon area were highlighted by the public to the District Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Mr Awanish Kumar today at 10:00 am, The DC had reached the Community Hall of the area to participate in the event of ‘Sarkar Janta Ke Dwaar’.
During the occasion, the Pradhan, Pahalgaon Gram Panchayat, Mr Shibananda Bairagi briefed the DC North and Middle in detail and said that due to instant stoppage of Chemical fertilizers the farmers of the area are struggling to manage their livelihood. He also mentioned that the water supplied in the area is only twice or thrice a week, which was noted by Mr Awanish Kumar.
After hearing all the genuine problems of the area, Mr Awanish Kumar quizzed the Head of Departments on the spot and directed them to resolve the issues in a time bound manner. The DC also instructed the Tehsildar of the area to release NOCs for development projects at the earliest. Finally the DC inaugurated ‘Waste Management Plant’ in the presence of the public of the area.
