Mayabunder, Dec 17: Since last few days, unprecedented power cuts have caused huge inconvenience in Mayabunder region. Mr. Abdul Shudhique, Ex Pramukh of Mayabunder informed that since last three days 15 to 18 hours continue power cuts were witnessed in Mayabunder region.
He told Andaman Sheekha that student communities were facing huge problems because such power cuts during Mid-Term examinations.
Yesterday on behalf of the public of Mayabunder, Mr. Abdul Siddique, Ex-Pramukh, Mayabunder raised this issue before the DC South Andaman, who is presently holding the charge of DC North & Middle Andaman.
Consequently, DC South Andaman immediately intervened into the matter and gave strict directions to the authority of electricity Department.
Following this workers of Electricity Department started maintenance and other works in war footing and activated the newly commissioned Power Generator Set at Panghat {Near Austin Bridge}, which solved the power problem.
Mr. Abdul Shudhique and public of Mayabunder region expressed their gratitude to the DC, South Andaman for resolving the grievances promptly.
