Port Blair, Oct 28: The police personnel of South Andaman area celebrated Diwali this evening, one day late than other Islanders.
This is because the police team of South Andaman region along with police personnel of other Islands, were busy in their duties of maintaining law and order situation all over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on the day of Diwali and hence they were unable to celebrate Diwali yesterday.
The late Diwali was celebrated inside the PS Aberdeen premises.
Meanwhile people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have appreciated the role played by Andaman and Nicobar police to maintain law and order situation during all festival seasons, including Diwali because of which there was no major incident of crime or accident reported this year during Diwali.
