Port Blair, Oct 28: In a shocking development, thousands of official files of Zilla Parishad containing crucial documents and information, were found dumped irresponsibly, behind the building of South Andaman Zilla Parishad this morning.
According to reports, some people after noticing the dumped files, communicated the matter to former Adhyaksha of Zilla Parishad, Ms. Mariyam Bibi after which the matter was informed to other members.
Soon other members and the newly elected Adhyaksh of South Andaman Zilla Parishad reached the place and inspected the dump files in which they reportedly found many files, which contained crucial information and documents.
On information the Dy.SP of South Andaman had also reached the place to inspect the files.
Later talking to Andaman Sheekha the former Adhyaksha of South Andaman Zilla Parishad, Ms. Mariyam Bibi termed this act as ‘highly irresponsible act’ by authorities.
“When I reached the place some DRM boys were taking these files away and when I asked what is going on, they told me that AD sir has instructed us to dump these files. My questions is that if tomorrow such important documents if go missing who will be held responsible for that,” she questioned.
When contacted the Adhyaksh of South Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. Subir Chander has assured stern action in this regard against those who will be found responsible for this act.
He said that file for inquiry in this regard has already been moved and a committee will be formed to find out who has ordered the dumping of official files.
“The files are dealt by Administrative wing because those are Administrative work and this is a highly irresponsible act to order such dumping of file,” the Adhyaksh said.
