Port Blair Oct.4: As part of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a Nukkad Natak on “Swachhata Hi Seva’’ was jointly organized by Kala Kendra – a Society under Department of Art & Culture and Ummat Public School on 4th October 2019 in the Cellular Jail premises, Port Blair. The students staged street play with the mission to spread the awareness among the general public about the hazards of pollution caused especially by the unabated use of plastic, effects of uncollected plastic waste on human beings, animals and the environment, plastic waste management and making the surrounding clean. The Nukkad Natak ended with the Swachhta Pledge taken by students to remain committed towards cleanliness and creating a plastic free environment. The Nukkad Natak was witnessed by a large number of tourists and was appreciated by one and all.
