Port Blair, Oct 04: Shri N.K.Udhaya Kumar, the Chairperson, PBMC alongwith Smti Rubana Aziz, Sr.Vice Chairperson, Shri Dharmender Narayan, Chairpeson (FTA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS Secretary, PBMC and Engineers of the Council visited Bhatubasti, Garacharama and its adjoining areas. They visited the Burning ghat situated at Garacharama and the graveyard exists at Bhathubasthi. The Civic Chief issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials present during the inspection to take up necessary maintenance work in respect of both the places immediately so that the populace can use the holy place for performing the last rites of their dear ones in a peaceful manner.
During the course of inspection the general public of Bhathubasti area gathered there and demanded the Civic Chief to construct a public toilet block at Bhathubasti junction. They also demanded for development of a Water ATM in that area. Upon this the Chairperson, PBMC issued necessary instructions to the officials to construct a public toilet block in Bhatubasti area for the convenience of residents of that locality as it was a long pending demand of the populace of these locality. He also directed to develop a Water ATM in that area so that general public can avail the facility of drinking water. The Civic Chief issued necessary directions to the concerned officials to complete all the works in a time bound manner.
