Port Blair, Oct 04: Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra organised an interactive session recently in their RGT Road training facility for the benefits of the youths of Andaman Islands. The program was organised in collaboration with Model Career Center and District Industries centre. Skill development, Financial schemes, and employment support that is available to the youths in Andaman was the focus of the program. Mr. Sumir Jeet Narayan, Head PMKK Andaman welcomed the gathering and briefed them about various skill development initiatives and how it impacts the life of an individual, family, and society as a whole. Mr. Jaikumar IPO, DIC, informed the participants about various financial assistance available to them if they would like to start-up their own and Mrs. Binu, AEO, Model Career Centre, shared the details of various functionalities and support available to the youths under national career services platform. Dr. Kavita R Shanmughan, Psychologist and Director, Pratibimb, shared her views about why it is important for the youths to envision a career goal and equip themselves with required skills by any individual. She also emphasized that such initiatives supplements Prime Minister’s vision of making India the “skills capital of the world”.
