Port Blair, Sept 20: Today the Hut Bay Police unit has rescued 05 fishermen alongwith engine dingy from deep sea, 3 km away from Harminder Bay Shore of, Little Andaman.
Police received information through phone at 0700 hrs that a fishing boat M.V.Thwaha bearing registration no. AN/SA/NA/1858 has developed engine trouble at the deep sea, 03 kms away from the sea shore of Harminder Bay.
MV Bhaskar Ghosh, Police Boat, rushed to the spot and rescued 05 fishermen namely Sheik Mohammed, s/o late Peer Mohd, 43 yrs (Boat Master), Abdul s/o Mohd. Arif, 44 yrs (crew), R. Suresh s/o Sh. Ramachandran 40 yrs (crew), Sesh Raja s/o Late Antony Swami,53 yrs(crew),and Moiddin Kashali s/o Late Sikander Kashali,55 yrs ( crew).
All the people onboard are residents of Bambooflat. When rescued the fishermen informed the police that they set out into water for fishing from Port Blair on 16/9/19 and they reached Hutbay territorial water on 18/9/19 and on 20/9/19 at about 0500 the boat developed fault in engine and it stopped working.
