Diglipur, Sept 20: The CHC Digilipur is presently witnessing acute shortage of Doctors for which patients are suffering heavily. Other than CMO Dr. Sidda Raju there is only one more Doctor to cater to thousands of daily patients.
Surprisingly, there were eight MBBS Doctors just four months back but now there are only four Doctors remaining. Out of eight, two Doctors resigned and two got transferred without any reliever. Out of present four
Doctors, one Doctor left for two months EL and one Doctor has been shifted to PHC Radha Nagar.
Remaining two Doctors are running the entire show, right from OPD to attending emergency call duties and also post mortems. These two doctors are now taking call during every alternate days without any break and in normal days one Doctors has to see 400 to 500 OPD patients daily. Long queue of patients could be seen outside Doctor’s chamber of CHC Diglipur and often patients in long queue are getting frustrated and often clashes among patients were also seen.
Around 800 to 1000 patients rush in OPD of CHC Diglipur on daily basis and a doctor is recommended to attend only 40 to 50 patients daily but they are generally handling 200 to 250 patients but now condition is that these two Doctors are handling 400 to 500 patients daily, one can imagine the quality of diagnosis of patients.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that the CMO had sent a signal for deputed additional Doctors at CHC Diglipur but no confirmation has been received yet from DHS.
Now if one Doctor out of two falls sick of takes leave for urgent work public will suffer the burnt in Diglipur region.
The General Public of Diglipur region are now requesting the Chief Secretary to send a few Doctors for Diglipur urgently before any major untoward incident.
