Port Blair, Sept 06: The former Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. B P Ray today said in a press release that the non- availability of infrastructure and Non- posting of specialist in district Hospital Car Nicobar to facilitate the better treatment of the tribal population and other general public is a serious concern.
As such the former MP had taken initiative with the Ministry of Family Welfare to redress the demands for posting of specialist in the field of medicines, gynecology, pediatrics, Radio-diagnosis and surgery apart from the upgraded infrastructure to the B.J.R. Hospital, Car Nicobar to ensure better treatment facilities.
“In response to that Dr. Manohar Agnani, IAS, Joint. Secretary Ministry of Health and Family Welfare vide his D.O. letter No. Z-28013/8/2018-NHM-IV, Dated 29th Aug., 2019 has conveyed that the Ministry is deputing one Specialist each in the fields of Medicines, Obst. & Gynae, Pediatric, Radio-diagnosis, and Surgery to the A& N Administration on rotational basis for 90 days. The Ministry further informed that the posting of the specialists at needy places/institutes is at the sole discretion of A& N Administration. Efforts for filling of the vacancies including the post of specialists in rotational/contract basis with proper incentives is under active concentration in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Administration may please be initiated appropriate action for facilitating the specilised treatment and also to available the specialist in B.J.R. Hospital, Car Nicobar,” Mr. Ray said in a press release issued today.
