Port Blair, September 1: Community Food and Nutrition Extension Unit (CFNEU) and Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Port Blair will jointly organise a series of activities/events during the month of September to celebrate Nutrition Month.
During the festivities, a recipe competition will be organised at Community Hall Delanipur on 4th of September for the Anganwadi workers and local participants from the adjoining area. Song and Skit on Nutrition Month have been planned on 5th of September in Haddo area of Port Blair. A quiz competition will be organised in Atam Pahand area on 6th of September, 2019. Drive to check the nutritional status of children through Body Mass Index (BMI) will be carried out in the Bambooflat area on 9th of September, 2019. Other than these programs, an awareness rally has also been proposed to spread awareness about Health and Nutrition. All the Anganwadi workers, residents and PRIs of the South Andaman District are requested to join the celebrations. CFNEU operates under the Food and Nutrition Board of Ministry of Women and Child Development. FOB operates under Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
