Port Blair, August 14: The State President, BJP, A & N Islands, Mr. Vishal Jolly, in a letter written to The Secretary (Fisheries), A & N Islands on August 14, 2019, a copy of which was released to the press, has requested to upgrading facilities in Fish Landing Jetty at Dairy Farm. A Swachata Abhiyan was organized by Y. Joga Rao Seva Group at Fish Landing Jetty, Ward No. 14, Fisheries Colony Dairy Farm on 13.08.2019 at 11.00 A.M. On invite Mr. Vishal Jolly attended the program and the fishermen of Ward No. 14, Fisheries Colony Dairy Farm represented few problems faced by them. He mentioned that the fishermen have applied for subsidy boats under Blue Revolution but the Dept. of Fisheries was not properly responded to the fishermen and harassing them on getting the approval of subsidy boats. Due to such unfriendly nature of the Dept. of Fisheries, the A&N fishermen are unable to utilize the Modi Ji Govts. Blue Revolution schemes and so far no fisherman has become exporter form these Islands. He requests to take necessary action to achieve the Blue Revolution in A&N Islands.
Mr. Vishal Jolly indicated that only one gate is available in Fish Landing Jetty, Ward No. 14, Fisheries Colony Dairy Farm and the fishers/ fish vendors face difficult to carry fishes form Fish Landing Jetty. He requests to build an additional gate at Fish Landing Jetty, Ward No. 14, Fisheries Colony Dairy Farm.
He also requests to install High Mast Light at Fish Landing Jetty, Ward No. 14 to facilitate the fishermen on handling fishes in night hours.
