Port Blair, April 30: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that Monsoon will hit these Islands by May 20.
Although some rainfall due to cyclone Fani has brought temporary relief for people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, these Islands will get complete relief from soaring temperature by May 20, with the arrival of Monsoon.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Sourish Bandyopadhyay, the officer incharge of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), A & N Islands said that generally monsoon enters these Islands by May 20th and even this year monsoon is expected in the same period. He added that the monsoon would remain normal like last year.
This year people in Andaman and Nicobar Islands had witnessed temperature rising up to 37 degree Celsius, which is the highest in past several years and hence everyone seems to be waiting for arrival of Monsoon in Andaman.
