Port Blair, Apr 16: The Bowfin Resort Havelock, owned by well known Contactor and Hotelier, Mr. Surya Rao, was inaugurated at Swaraj Dweep on 14 April, on the auspicious occasion of Tamil New Year.
Mr. Rao already has hotels in Port Blair. He was having a vision to open an eco-friendly resort and following this vision the Resort has come up.
As per details the whole structure of the Resort, is mostly of wood and glass.
During the inauguration programme, Pradhan of Shyam Nagar Mrs. Shikha Rani Mistry and Pradhan of Govind Nagar Mr. Ajit Kumar Roy and the MD Mr. Surya Rao were the chief guests. Mr Rao was accompanied by his family members.
The Pradhan and Mr Rao cut the cake which was of aquatic themed.
The resorts name come from a fish of Jurassic age named Bowfin. The theme of the resort is blue and green, blue signifies the ocean and green signifies the greenary. The resort has 20 functional rooms right now and another 20 will be completed in September.
The architecture of the resort is themed on Andamanese architecture.
“Once you enter, the structure is mesmerizing and your eyes get glues to the designs. The Cottages are designed to give the guests a feel, to be in the lap of nature. The resort has a cake shop an ala carte restaurant and a buffet restaurant working right now. Even the locals can enjoy the services of these restaurants no need to have bookings made in the resort for that,” the Manager of the Resort told Andaman Sheekha
The resort also features a bar with more than 70 types of cocktails and liquors.
“In this Resort you can avail more than 200 types of dishes all freshly prepared in the restaurants by chefs,” the Manger said.
The gathering was briefed about all this details by the general manager of the hotel Mr Manpreet Singh.
The resort is also planning some other facilities in the coming future like a swimming pool, a pillar less banquet with a seating capacity of 400 persons and a different grade of rooms totally in between the trees and above the trees. These rooms will be fitted with bathtubs and will be honey moon suits. The resort is also planning a 247365 days coffee shop with more than 7 varieties of coffee.
