N&M Andaman, Apr 03: A fire accident was reported this afternoon from Harinagar, Ward No. 5 paddy field of Mr. Ranjit Das. The matter was informed to the Fire Station Billyground at around 12.13 hrs.
As per eye witnesses the fire team reached within 10 minutes but the team was unable to reach the site because of a big drain in between.
Anyhow the ASI (FS) reached at the spot with his team and with the help of villagers the team was able to douse the fire within an hour by using water pumps.
The prompt action of Fire Services saved two houses nearby. As per details the fire caused some damages to the arecanut plantation of Mr. Ranjit Das. Public highly appreciated the commendable services of Fire team of FS, Billyground.
