Port Blair, Mar 29: The first phase of sensitization-cum-training programme of all the Polling Personnel appointed by the Returning Officer, ANIPC was held in all the Tehsils of North & Middle Andaman District on March 25, 2019.
At Mayabunder, the District Election Officer, N&MA, Mr. Awanish Kumar welcomed all the participants and presented a brief overview of the duties and responsibilities of the Presiding Officers. He also explained about their roles in conducting free election for the country and urged them to get acquainted with the latest rulings of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
During the training, the Master Trainers delivered a detailed explanation to all Polling Officers regarding the complete process of voting system through EVM-VVPAT machines through power-point presentation and videos along with a mock poll. A hands-on experience through the use of Control Unit, Ballot Unit, VVPAT, VSDU and paper trail were provided. The Master Trainers also elucidated various issues raised by the participants, which were clarified through illustrations and instances. Handbooks and Checklists were also distributed to all Presiding Officers to acquire complete knowledge about their duties and responsibilities.
The OSD (Election), N&MA, Mr. Mohan Kumar coordinated all the election resource persons and lauded the large participation of Presiding Officers and Polling Officers. The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mr. Awanish Kumar concluded the training programme by lauding all for the active participation and acting in direction of assuring free & fair conduct of upcoming General Election.
