N&M Andaman, Mar 18: Acting strictly on the menace of Drug peddling, the Rangat police had recovered 840 grams of Ganja from the possession of 02 persons on 16/03/19.
On the basis of credible information, SI Usman Ali, SHO PS Rangat along with Police Team consisting of SI Somen Halder, SI Parvash, HC Shaukat Ali, PC Prity, PC Pradeep Karmakar, HG Mangal Katchap and HG Francis Toppo raided for 02 houses near vegetable market Rangat Bazaar and recovered 540 grams of illicit ganja from the possession of Smt. Mamta Halder R/o Rangat Bazaar and Mr. Subir Gain R/o Rangat Bazaar. They were arrested under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. Subsequently 02 cases have been registered at PS Rangat under NDPS Act against the above accused persons. Further investigation is in progress. The entire operation was carried out under the close supervision of Mr. Sharma, SDPO Rangat.
The general public is requested to pass on such information to the local Police at phone No. 274239, 274646, 100, their identity will be kept confidential and will be rewarded suitably, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District said in a communiqué.
