Port Blair, Aug 08: Janmastami- the birthday of Lord Krishna will be celebrated in the islands along with the rest of the country tomorrow. Various programmes have been chalked out by temples across the islands to mark the celebration. The Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM has greeted the people on the occasion.
Lord Sri Krishna Temple Committee will be celebrating the 58th annual pooja of Lord Sri Krishna Janmashtami from Aug 9 to 12 at Temple premises of Haddo Ward No.I. The temple committee will also organize a colourful programme.
Janmastami will be celebrated at Radha Krishna Temple, Junglighat on Aug 9 at 12 midnight. Lord Sree Krishna Temple, Dairy Farm will be celebrating the first Sree Krishna Janmashtami on Aug 9 at 6 pm with following rituals like janai puja, vishesha homam, archana, mangalaharati, purnabhuti, alankar, Prasad distribution and bhajan.
The Radha Govind Temple will also be celebrated Janmashtami with befitting programme from 6 pm.
