Port Blair, Feb 18: Hindu Jagaran Manch is conducting 10th year Attukal Pongala on 20th February 2019 at Junglighat Durga Puja Pandal. The Attukal Pongala is conducted every year on Makam Nakshatra of Kumbam month (malayalam). Attukal Pooja will be done by Ajayan Shanthi (Chief Poojari of MES Ayyappa Temple).
Attukal Bhagawathy is known as Sabarimala of Ladies. The female devotees cook pongal / prasad in front of deity and offered before the deity. After performing pooja, Annadanam will be served to all devotees, in a communication received from State Convenor, Hindu Jagaran Manch.
