Port Blair, Feb 18: Pradhan Mantri Mr. Narendra Modi has recently launched the Scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) for the benefit of farmers. Under this Scheme the farmers having less than 2 hectors agricultural land will get financial Assistance of Rs:6000/- per annum which shall be given in three instalment with effect from 1st December,2018. Total 20000 Nos. farmers have been identified under the scheme. Out of the total target of 15,000 farmers, the Administration has received only 4000 forms duly filled in all respect from all three Districts of A & N Islands.
Consequent upon that Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P has appealed to PRIs of all three districts of A & N Islands to expedite the action in personal level for implementation of the scheme and for submission prescribed forms of “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)” duly filled in all respect for enabling to released the first instalment of Rs:2000/- to each eligible farmers by end of this month and also to get the subsequent instalment of RS: 2000/- from the month from March,2019, in a communiqué received from MP Office.
