Port Blair, Feb 17: In a sudden Political development on the 15th February, 2019 the Senior most leader and Trade Union Leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Ex General Secretary (Organisation), Ex Vice President and BMS President and well-known Political personality of these Islands, Mr. Girish Raju along with his large number of supporters has joined Congress Party recording his faith in the leadership of the President, AICC Mr. Rahul Gandhi and PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma.
After joining the party, Mr. Raju has stated the reasons as to why he has left BJP and joined INC. He has recorded his praise for many leaders of the Congress Party with a special mention for Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. According to Mr. Raju, Kuldeep Rai Sharma is a visionary man with leadership quality and having specific mission for inclusive development of these Islands which makes him an admiring personality in State Political arena. On his joining, the senior leaders of the party viz Smt. Shanta Laxman Singh, Vice President, Senior spokesperson Mr. K Ganeshan, ZP Member Ms Maryam Bibi, Mr. Gyan Prakash Sharma, GS, INTUC, Mr. Hamid Ali, Smt. Zubaida Begum, Smt. Pushpanjali Raju, Sana Rao expressed their happiness and wished that his entry to Congress Party will strengthen the Party. Welcoming Mr. Girish Raju, the PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma recorded his pleasure of having a sincere and hardworking leader like Mr. Raju in the Party, in a communiqué received from Media cell of PCC.
