Port Blair, Feb 15: A speeding cargo van hit a bike at Diggy Basthi, Kamorta this morning at around 11:45AM. The rider of the bike Mr. Balakrishnan S/o Yogesh Rao, 26 years, a resident of Kamorta is said to be in critical condition as he has reportedly suffered multiple injuries in his body.
As per report, the cargo van was at a very high speed and the driver lost control over the van and hit the bike, which was coming from opposite direction.
Due to the impact, the rider fell on the road and sustained serious multiple injuries.
He was soon rushed to Kamorta Hospital, from where he was referred to the Port Blair’s GB Pant Hospital. He was reportedly airlifted by Defence helicopter, which reached Port Blair at around 6:00PM.
A case has been registered at PS Nancowrie in this regard and further investigations are on.
