Port Blair, Feb 15: Several Candlelight vigils were organized across Andaman Islands condemning the barbaric terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.
At Port Blair, A & N Media Federation (ANMF) organized a prayers meet today where participants gathered and lighted candles to pay tributes to Martyrs of Pulwama attack and condemn the cowardly act. The prayer meet was organized at Flag Point of Port Blair city, where Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi hoisted National Flag last December.
Media persons also burned the Effigies of Masood Azhar, the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the reported master mind behind this attack.
The President of A & N Media Federation Mr. K.Ganeshan, the Vice President, Mr. Shyam Singh Yadav, Organsing Secretary, Mohd Raffi, Joint Secretary Mr. SP Ellango led the media team in this event, in which students and other Islanders also participated.
Meanwhile candlelight vigils were organized in remote areas of Middle Andaman like Billyground and Rangat while several other such Candlelight march are planned tomorrow.
The State BJP unit of Andaman and Nicobar islands has organized a Sokh Yatra tomorrow to pay tribute to the Martyrs of Pulwama attack. The Sokh Yatra is scheduled at 02.30 PM from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Head Quarter at Port Blair. (Input by Roopa Lal, Avinash, Roni Antony, Trinath from Billyground and Saleem Javed from Rangat).
