Port Blair, Feb 13: As part of Swachhta action Plan campaign running by Ministry of tourism , Govt. of India, IITTM/NIWS- Goa in association with NSS Unit-3 has organized a Student awareness campaign at JNRM college. NSS Volunteers and BBA Tourism students were participated in the programme. Prof. S.K Lenka (Nodal officer IITTM Bhubaneswar), Dr. J.S. Manhas, Principal in-charge, JNRM, Mr. P. T. Rajan, Rtd. Zoologist –ZSI, Dr. Vivek Kumar Sahu, Programme Officer NSS Unit -3, were given their speeches on the respective topics. As part of the awareness campaign a video presentation and Nukkad natak was played with the message of cleanliness and it made the programme very entertaing. Quiz competition was conducted for the students and winners were felicitated with mementos and certificates. The programme was focused on the role of students and NSS in keeping our country clean and neat. The campaign also mentioned the need of awareness among tourist as well as local people in protecting the eco system and marine life of A&N islands.
