Port Blair, January 09: An Amity University student hailing from Andaman and Nicobar Islands has accused a youth from the union territory of stalking her and thrashing her outside the university, said a report published by The Tribune Newspaper today.
As per the report, following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the women police station in Manesar. The police arrested accused Vishal.
He claimed that he was in a relationship with the 19-year-old student and had given up his BTech studies to be with her. He was produced in a local court on Tuesday, which sent him to judicial custody.
According to the police, the 19-year-old BPharma student had reported that the accused had been visiting her in the university repeatedly for the last few days. She reported that around 2 pm on Monday, the accused misbehaved with her and hit her with his bag outside the university, leaving her injured. An FIR was registered under Sections 354-D (stalking) and 323 (causing hurt) of the IPC in Manesar, after which Vishal was arrested, the report of The Tribute added.
