Port Blair, Dec 26: The Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) is working comprehensively towards sharing information and knowledge among the masses on various critical issues of national security, integrity and veneration of our motherland. For the last seven years, FANS has been organizing an annual patriotic yatra for the A&N Islands, a place of the pilgrimage, as “Shaheed Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra” to hoist the Tricolour on 30th December every year to celebrate the Flag Hoisting done by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on 30th December, 1943 – the first ever Tricolour on Indian Territory. Hundreds of nationalists participate in various programmes and tours during 29th December to 2nd January under the leadership of Mananiya Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak FANS.
As done in previous years, this year also FANS is organizing a patriotic yatra to the A&N Islands under the leadership of Mananiya Indresh Kumarji, Margdarshak FANS from 29th December, 2018 to 2nd January, 2019.
FANS members said that they are very much thankful that this year the Prime Minister of India has accepted to hoist the national flag at Port Blair on 30th December, 2018, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first flag hoisting by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
The descendents & family members of the following freedom fighters are expected to attend the function proposed to be organized at Port Blair on 30th December, 2018 along with about 300 delegates from various parts of India:
S/Mr. Mahavir Singh, Batukeshwar Dutt, Jaidev Kapoor, Shyam Deo Narayan, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar, Dr. Daya Prasad Katiyar, Baba Wasakha Singh & Bishen Singh.
The families of the freedom fighters will be visiting Cellular Jail on 31.12.2018 at 8.30 AM. All those who would like to interact with the decedents of freedom fighters may meet them when they will be visiting the Cellular Jail, as said by Mr. Girish Arora, President, FANS, A&N Chapter in a press release.
