Port Blair, Nov 23: Andaman & Nicobar Police is determined to curb the menace of illicit brewing and illegal sale of IMFL/Country made liquor in A & N Islands and in their efforts to completely eradicate the menace of alcohol, on 18/11/18 vigilant team of PS Pahargaon SI Jeevan along with PC/406 S.N. Patak, PC/2422 Vijay Ram, PC/1203 M. Abdul Salam, PC/1261 B Pushpa & HG/76 Kartick of PS Pahargaon conducted a special drive against the illegal sale of IMFL/Country made liquor and nabbed 05 persons namely 1) R. Kartick S/o Late Rangaswamy (26)yrs R/o Brichgunj 2) Smt. Santi Manibai W/o Late Balmukanda Ram (60)yrs R/o Austinabad 3) Smt. Devki Devi W/o Late Tarakeswar (65)yrs R/o Brookshabad 4) Daniel Kujur S/o Late Basu Kujur (55)yrs R/o Brookshabad 5) Smt. Jaywanthi Devi w/o Late Sunil Tirkey (36) yrs R/o Brookshabad and a total of 1030 liters of country made liquor (Handia) was recovered from their possession and accused were arrested on the spot.
The above detection was made under the command of Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO, Pahargaon under the direct supervision of Mr. Nishant Gupta, DySP (South Andaman).
General public is hereby requested to pass credible information regarding bootlegging, illicit sale of IMFLs through petty shops & ghumties or any other anti-social activities noticed in their locality. Identity of the informer will be kept secret.
