Port Blair, November 15: After gathering information and after working hard on it, a team of Ograbraj Police Unit has destroyed a huge quantity of Country Liquor today in the forest situated near Aniket Village. According to reports, the Country Liquor Furnace (locally called Desi Bhatti), in the deep forest of Aniket Village had around 06 large drums filled with Country liquor along with a Lehen (a drum like structure where desi liquor is fermented and distilled).
It is learnt that around 09 containers as well as 02 plastic container filled with Country liquor was also destroyed on the spot. The destruction of such amount of Country liquor is believed to be the highest in the past recent years. According to sources, the Country Liquor Furnace was sighted by the Police Team in the early morning hours after the entire night search in the deep forest near Aniket Village.
Thus, the efforts of the Police Team constituted of HC Pankaj Kumar, PC Ashok Roy, PC S Manoharan, PC Rajdhari Yadav, PC Abdul Wahab along with the Station House Officer of Ograbraj Police Unit Inspector Hari Narayan must be luaded. However, the owner of the bhatti is yet to be traced out.
