Port Blair, Nov 01: In a shocking development, a mother of a new born child suffered a centipede bite, when she was inside Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with her new born baby. Adding to the pain, the centipede bit very close to stitches, she got, during caesarean section, which was carried out on Sunday last.
While dogs, cats and rats can be easily seen roaming inside various wards of G B Pant hospital, centipede bite inside NICU says a lot about cleanliness and sanitation inside the G B Pant Hospital. One can wonder what would happen if tomorrow a centipede bites a new born baby.
As per reports soon after centipede bite at 8.00 PM the mother taken to causality unit for medication and then she was admitted in female ward of G B Pant Hospital. Sources also said that because of this incident today the NICU unit has been cleaned thoroughly by the staffs.
