Campbell Bay, Oct 31: October 31 is celebrated as the birthday anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel, who is credited as one of the founding fathers of modern India. Today Run for Unity was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Campbell Bay in associated with Local Administration Campbell Bay, Mr. Santosh Prakesh, Assistant Commissioner, In charge cum Tehsilder, Campbell bay flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’. About 400 youth have participated from various department and schools. The run of Unity was stared from Zero Point and culminated at Jatty Bazzar, a distance of about 1.5 kms commemorating the memory of Sardar Patel and his contribution to the nation.
All the Departments administer pledged at their respective offices along with National Anthem on the occasion. Beside this an essay and declamation contest was also organized among the youth to aware more about Sardar Patel and his contribution to the nation.
